The Smile Royale
Dr. Carmen Castillo was among four honorees who were celebrated for their dedication, passion, and leadership to the Long Beach Children's Dental Health Clinic at its 87th Anniversary gala, The Smile Royale.
The Children's Dental Health Clinic "is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization serving children and young adults, ages 0-21, in the Greater Long Beach and South Bay areas who are economically disadvantaged or have issues in access to care. [They] are dedicated to providing quality basic and specialty dental treatment, as well as preventive services."
At the gala, there was a silent auction benefitting the clinic, as well as a presentation by the current president, and speeches from each honoree. In attendance, Dr. Castillo had family, friends, her private practice staff, and her CDHC staff supporting her.
As well as being an honoree, Dr. Castillo currently serves as a member of the Children's Dental Foundation Board of Directors, and as a member of the Long Beach Memorial Care/Miller's Children's Hospital Medical Advisory Board. Parallel to her private practice, which she has had since 1989, has been her dedication and service with the Children's Dental Health Clinic. Dr. Castillo has served as President of the Children's Dental Foundation Board of Directors over two terms, spearheaded unique fundraising opportunities, and has shared her expertise as a working dentist, giving healthy smiles to thousands of children and beyond for over close to 30 years.
