What causes teeth to become yellowed and discolored?

Most tooth discoloration is related to the foods and beverages that are consumed. Dark-colored berries, red wine, coffee, and tea can all contribute to staining. Foods and beverages high in acids can temporarily soften enamel so stains can penetrate more easily. Smoking is another big cause of tooth discoloration. Poor oral hygiene habits can play a role in tooth color change.  Less commonly, discoloration can develop inside the tooth following trauma or after a root canal.

What is Zoom! teeth whitening?

Zoom! teeth whitening system is a state-of-the-art approach to whitening teeth that uses a special gel combined with light activation to help teeth become 6 to 10 shades whiter and brighter in just one hour. During the procedure, a plastic protector is placed over the lips to keep them away from the teeth so the gel and light can reach the visible surfaces of all the teeth. The gel is applied to the tooth surfaces and the activating light is focused on the teeth to stimulate the deep whitening action. Once treatment is complete, a quick fluoride treatment helps teeth stay healthy and strong.

What is Quick Pro?

Quick Pro is a special tooth varnish that is applied to the surfaces of teeth and allowed to remain in place for 30 minutes. When the time is up, the varnish is wiped away, revealing whiter, brighter teeth. Quick Pro uses a professional-strength hydrogen peroxide based gel that's applied to teeth and then locked in place with a special sealer to prevent the gel from being washed away by saliva. The application takes about 10 minutes and patients can brush off the sealer and gel on their own after they leave the office.
